Welcome to the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the World Future Society



What We Do


The Greater Philadelphia chapter of the World Future Society, serving Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. The WORLD FUTURE SOCIETY is a nonprofit educational and scientific organization for people interested in how social and technological developments are shaping the future. Our chapter serves the following charter:
  1. To contribute to a reasoned awareness of the future and the importance of its study, without advocating particular ideologies or engaging in political activities.
  2. To advance serious and responsible investigation of the future.
  3. To promote the development of methods for the study of the future.
  4. To increase public understanding of future-oriented studies.
  5. To facilitate communication and cooperation among organizations and individuals interested in studying or planning for the future.


How We Do It


At the chapter level we accomplish these goals in the following ways:
  • Assemble like-minded individuals interested in the future
  • Provide networking opportunities to share ideas, beliefs, and career advice through meetings, an online member directory, and online forums
  • Arrange activities on the future, such as dinner meetings, lectures, book discussion groups, field trips, and professional futures training

In this way, we assemble the Philadelphia region's greatest minds to help each other to promote awareness of the future in the organizations and businesses in which we serve.

The Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the World Future Society welcomes professionals, entrepreneurs, students, and other curious minds to think about and discuss issues pertinent to the future.
